The short version

Loka is built so we can't see your data. Your chats and persona memories are processed and stored only on your device. We run no accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry. The only time data leaves your phone is when you run a cloud job. and Loka shows you exactly what will be sent before you approve it.

1. What stays on your device

Everything, by default:

Chat messages and chat history
Personas, their instructions, and every memory they hold about you
Downloaded AI models and your settings

This data never reaches us. We have no servers that store it, no ability to read it, and nothing to hand over if asked. Deleting the app deletes it all.

2. What leaves your device, only with your consent

Some features can't run on a phone and use cloud services when you invoke them:

Web search: your search query is sent
Image generation & editing: your prompt and, for edits, the selected image
Deep research: your research question

Before each cloud job, Loka lists the exact items that will be sent, and waits for your approval. You can enable auto-approval in Settings; you can turn it off at any time. Chat history, persona memories and your identity are never included in cloud requests.

Cloud jobs run on Loka's own servers, which pass the request to the model provider you selected: Cloudflare Workers AI, or fal.ai for the models it hosts (which include models from Black Forest Labs, Google and xAI). They receive your prompt and, for an edit, the image you chose, and nothing else. Inputs and outputs are not used to train models. We keep no copy of a generated image: it is delivered to your device and is not stored on our servers.

3. What we collect about you

Almost nothing, and never on our own servers. Loka has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting identifiers, no advertising trackers.

In-app purchases (the one-time unlock and the weekly plan) are handled by Apple, and we receive only an anonymous confirmation that a purchase is valid. Cloud credits are not sold in the app.

Cloud credits bought through the web Portal are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe collects your card details and email to take the payment and send you a receipt, under Stripe's own privacy policy. Loka never sees or stores your card number, creates no Stripe customer profile, and links credits only to an opaque token, never to your name or email.

4. Your memory, your controls

Every persona's memory page shows each stored fact and when it was saved
Delete any single fact, or wipe a persona's memory entirely, at any time
Neutral ("Just chat") conversations store no memories at all
Export your data anytime: it's yours

5. Children

Loka is rated for users 13 and over, in line with its App Store rating. We collect no data from anyone, including children.

6. Changes to this policy

If we change how Loka handles data (for example, adding a new cloud feature), we'll update this page and note it in the app's release notes before the change takes effect. We will never quietly weaken these commitments.
